Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102)
Microsoft retired the Azure AI Engineer Associate certification and its exam, AI-102, on June 30, 2026. You can no longer take the exam or renew the certification. Microsoft's replacement is Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate (exam AI-103), which is a new exam focused on building AI apps and agents, not a renamed AI-102.
If you already hold it
It stays on your Microsoft Learn transcript and remains active until one year after your last pass or renewal, then shows as expired. There is no automatic conversion or discount to AI-103.
