Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
Microsoft retired the Azure Security Engineer Associate certification and its exam, AZ-500, on August 31, 2026. The replacement is Cloud and AI Security Engineer Associate (exam SC-500), which keeps most of AZ-500's Azure security content and adds securing AI workloads.
If you already hold it
You can no longer earn or renew AZ-500. It stays on your transcript until it expires. There is no conversion path to SC-500; you take the new exam. An AZ-500 earned before retirement still counts toward Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100).
