Best ACAMS Certifications in 2026

ACAMS is a membership association for anti-money laundering and financial crime professionals, whose certification covers money laundering prevention, compliance and financial crime detection.

How ACAMS certifications work

Membership required
You need an active ACAMS membership to apply for and keep a certification. Membership does not count toward eligibility credits.
Eligibility credits
CAMS requires 40 eligibility credits from anti-financial crime work, education, training and other certifications.
Delivery
Pearson VUE test centres, with online proctoring in some locations.
Retake and reschedule fees
A CAMS retake costs $299 ($199 public sector). Rescheduling is free more than 72 hours ahead; inside 72 hours Pearson VUE charges $100.
Recertification
CAMS recertifies every 3 years with 60 credits, at least 12 from ACAMS training. The fee is $200, $250 or $300 depending on how early you apply.
Exam integrity
Exam content is confidential. Sharing or discussing questions after the test can void your score and bar you from retesting.
