How AFP certifications work

Exam fees and registration
The application fee includes the exam and depends on AFP membership and registration deadline. CTP non-members pay $1,320 early or $1,420 by the final deadline, including one year of AFP membership. A retake costs $250 and a no-show $95.
Validity and renewal
Certifications are valid for 3 years. Earn 36 continuing education credits by June 30 of your final year and pay a reporting fee of $85 to $250, depending on membership and deadline.
Delivery
Pearson VUE test centres, outside Quebec. Online proctoring is not available.
Eligibility
You need full-time professional work experience, not just a passing score. CTP requires 2 years, or 1 year with a graduate business degree.
