How SCCE certifications work

Certifying body
The Compliance Certification Board (CCB), governed by SCCE and HCCA, runs the exams and issues CCEP, CCEP-I, CHC, CHRC and CHPC. SCCE and HCCA are the membership associations.
Exam delivery
Exams are run by PSI at a PSI test centre, by PSI remote proctoring, or on paper at select SCCE and HCCA events.
Eligibility
You need compliance work experience and CCB-approved continuing education units (CEUs), including some from live training, before you can sit an exam. CEUs keep you eligible to test for 12 months. CCEP requires 1 year full-time or 1,500 hours in the past 2 years, plus 20 CEUs (10 live).
No official study guide
CCB does not publish a study guide. Prepare from the Detailed Content Outline for your exam and your own compliance experience.
Fees and membership
Exam application costs $350 for SCCE or HCCA members and $450 for non-members, rising to $375 and $475 from January 1, 2027. Renewal costs $145 for members and $265 for non-members, rising to $155 and $275 on the same date. Membership is not required to certify or renew.
