AWS Certified AI Business Strategist (AIB-C01) Exam Guide
Validates knowledge of AI fundamentals, business value creation, responsible AI governance and leading organizational AI transformation.
The exam gives you business scenarios about AI and asks for the best decision, such as which initiative to fund, how to measure its value, how to govern its risks or how to scale it. Candidates describe it as reading and judgment more than AWS knowledge. Work through AWS's free learning plan, then practise interpreting scenarios.

Expand the assistant to every store
Agree a baseline and the KPIs that will measure the change
Switch to a larger foundation model
Publish the accuracy score internally
Show answer
Agree a baseline and the KPIs that will measure the change. Without a baseline you cannot show the assistant improved anything.
Choose two or more correct answers from five or more options; you must select every correct option to get credit.
CertUp example
Which TWO actions belong in a governance plan before a customer-facing AI tool launches?
Assign an accountable owner for the tool's outputs
Choose the cheapest pricing tier
Define how bias and harmful output will be monitored and escalated
Rename the project to match the brand
Delay all reviews until after launch
Show answer
Assign an accountable owner, and define how bias and harmful output will be monitored and escalated. Both give the tool clear accountability and a way to catch problems.
Eligibility and booking
Create an AWS Certification account with a personal email and schedule with Pearson VUE at a test centre or online. The exam is offered in English and Japanese. Non-native English speakers can request 30 extra minutes.
Read the exam guide's task statements first. Then work through AWS's free learning plan and practise reading business scenarios carefully.
Most candidates spend 10–30 hours. Plan for the low end if you already work on AI projects; add time if you have not used AWS AI services or read business scenarios against exam wording.

4Practice with mock exams
Use AWS's official practice questions in the exam prep plan, then a third-party practice bank. For every miss, note which business requirement in the scenario you overlooked.
You can reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before the appointment, and reschedule twice at most. Results are posted to your AWS Certification account within five business days.
Advice from exam takers
It tests reading and judgment more than AWS knowledge.
Beta passers describe scenario questions that depend on interpreting what is asked and choosing the best business decision. Technical people say they had to think differently about business value and readiness.
The free AWS materials were enough for several passers.
Candidates passed using the free Skill Builder exam prep and the official practice questions, some adding a few mock exams. Preparation ranged from a few days to about a month.
