CCISO Certified Chief Information Security Officer All-in-One Exam Guide

A 2020 study guide by Steven Bennett and Jordan Genung with 300 practice questions in the Total Tester engine. Passers used it for content, and one candidate scored in the mid-90s on its questions.

Great fit if you want one book that teaches the material and gives you a question set to match.

Poor fit if you want practice that follows EC-Council's current domains; its five-domain layout predates the Organizational Executive Leadership domain.

What to look for in a CCISO practice test

Match the blueprint. EC-Council's published CCISO Blueprint v3 sets the 712-50 domains, including a separate Organizational Executive Leadership domain at 16%. EC-Council now markets training as CCISO v4, so prefer products from EC-Council or built on the v3 domains.
Look for 'first' and 'best' decision questions. Candidates describe the exam as fair, management-focused and drawn from experience, with many questions asking for the first or best action. Fact-recall banks prepare you less well.
Weight your practice toward core competencies. Information security core competencies are 46% of the exam. The other four domains carry 11% to 16% each.
Treat third-party banks with care. One candidate who compared three third-party sets found one whose answers they could disprove from standard references. Avoid sites selling 'real 712-50 questions', which breach EC-Council's NDA and allow bans and revoked certifications.
Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual CCISO questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items, not practice. Use products that write their own questions and explain every answer, so you learn the reasoning the exam tests.

How to use CCISO practice tests

Take the free assessment first. Do EC-Council's 50-question assessment before heavy study, then read what you got wrong against the five domains.
Answer as the CISO, not the engineer. Practise choosing the action a security executive takes first, with the budget, risk and board in mind, rather than the most technical fix.
Log misses by domain. Write each miss against its blueprint domain, and cover the areas you have not led yourself, since experience fills only part of the exam.
Do not over-read a high score. One candidate scored in the mid-90s on a book-bundled set and noted a third-party score says little about the real exam. Use EC-Council's simulated assessment late for timing, 150 questions in 150 minutes.
