CPIM Exam Content Manual Sample Questions

Ten four-option sample questions with explanations at the back of ASCM's free version 9.0 content manual. Enough to see the official wording and the level of calculation, not a practice test.

Great fit if you want to see ASCM's question style before buying anything.

Poor fit if you need volume or a full mock exam; use Pocket Prep or the Learning System.

Daily question bank

CPIM Exam Prep

Quizzes with explanations, plus weakest-subject, missed-question and timed modes, on phone or web. Candidates call it the bank to start with, and easier than the Learning System's quizzes.

Great fit if you want daily practice in short sessions and a report of your weakest subjects.

Poor fit if you want a ready-made 150-question mock exam; use the Learning System's practice exam.

Official practice exam

CPIM Learning System

ASCM's official course is the only place for its full practice exam, plus quizzes after each module. Candidates call the quizzes harder than the real exam and the final practice exam the closest match.

Great fit if you are buying the Learning System anyway and want the benchmark exam that comes with it.

Poor fit if you only want practice questions; the price covers the whole course, so use Pocket Prep.

One-time question set

ASCM CPIM Practice Test

A one-time set of four-option questions, each with an explanation of the right answer and why the others are wrong, plus a study guide. Free samples need no signup.

Great fit if you want extra questions for a one-off fee instead of a subscription.

Poor fit if you want quiz modes and progress tracking; use Pocket Prep.

What to look for in a CPIM practice test

  • Built for version 9.0. CPIM 9.0 became the single 150-question exam on June 1, 2026, and split the old supply module into internal and external supply sources. Questions written for the old Part 1 and Part 2 exams or for 8.0 miss that content.
  • Concept, scenario and calculation questions. Expect definitions, planning and scheduling scenarios, and calculations such as master schedule, MRP, safety stock and EOQ. Choose banks that explain each calculation step by step.
  • Wording that follows ASCM's definitions. Candidates report ambiguous questions where several answers seem right and advise answering with ASCM's meaning, not your company's practice. Explanations that cite the ASCM definition help most.
  • A full 150-question run. The exam is 150 questions in 3.5 hours with no scheduled breaks. Only the Learning System publishes a full practice exam, so use long Pocket Prep quizzes to build the stamina for one sitting.
  • Official questions are few outside the Learning System. ASCM publishes ten sample questions in the free content manual. Its full practice exam sits inside the $1,755 course, and few third-party options exist yet for 9.0.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual CPIM questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. ASCM's exam code of ethics bans accepting exam content before the exam, with sanctions up to decertification. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use CPIM practice tests

  • Start with the ten sample questions. Work them before studying to see which terms and calculations are new, then plan your first weeks around those modules.
  • Review every explanation, including right answers. Candidates call Pocket Prep's explanations a second learning resource. For each miss, note which ASCM definition or formula you misapplied.
  • Use the Learning System's practice exam as your benchmark. One passer found the real exam closer to the final practice exam than to the module quizzes, and booked after steady results on it. Book soon after finishing the content.
  • Mix banks for different wording. Candidates report the Learning System as harder and wordier, Pocket Prep as easier and clearer, and the real exam as somewhere between. Using both exposes you to each style.
  • Drill calculations by hand. Rework the master schedule, MRP and inventory problems you miss until you can solve them without the explanation open.
