Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) Practice Tests

Validates foundational knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio agents, and managing and securing Power Platform environments.

PL-900 runs 45 minutes, and Microsoft says most of its exams have 40 to 60 questions. Since the 24 July 2026 update, Copilot Studio agents make up 20 to 25 percent, alongside Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse. We compared the main options on outline coverage, volume and price.

Most people should start with Microsoft's free practice assessment, then add MeasureUp or Whizlabs for Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse volume. Both paid sets predate the change, so cover Copilot Studio from Microsoft Learn.

Free official check

PL-900 Practice Assessment

Microsoft's own practice questions, with an answer, rationale and reading links for every question on the score report. Candidates who took the exam after July 2026 say it covers the older topics well but has little on Copilot Studio.

Great fit if you want a free first check on Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse wording.

Poor fit if you want deep practice on the new Copilot Studio agents area.

Official timed practice

Practice Test PL-900: Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals

Microsoft's official practice-test partner. Certification mode is timed, practice mode sets your own length and topics, and the 120 questions still include a Power Pages block that the July 2026 outline mostly removed.

Great fit if you want extra timed practice on Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and governance.

Poor fit if you need Copilot Studio agent questions; this set predates that area.

Low-cost drills

Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals PL-900 Practice Tests

Two 55-question practice tests, a 55-question final test and topic quizzes with explanations, plus a free test. The topic quizzes still follow the older outline with Power Pages and Power BI.

Great fit if you want low-cost extra drills on Power Apps, Power Automate and the business value of the platform.

Poor fit if you want questions on Copilot Studio agents; the topic quizzes have no Copilot Studio area.

What to look for in a PL-900 practice test

  • Check which outline the set was written for. PL-900 changed on 24 July 2026: the Power Pages skill areas were removed and Copilot Studio agents became a 20 to 25 percent area. MeasureUp was last updated in August 2025 and Whizlabs still lists Power Pages quizzes.
  • Expect a gap on Copilot Studio. Candidates who sat the exam after the change report that a large share of questions were on Copilot Studio and agents, and that practice material barely touched them. Fill that gap with the Learn modules and hands-on time in Copilot Studio.
  • Prefer scenario questions with explanations. Most PL-900 questions ask which Power Platform tool, app type or setting fits a business need, for example canvas versus model-driven apps, or DLP policies on connectors. Pick sets that explain why the other options fail.
  • Treat small Udemy sets with care. Many PL-900 sets on Udemy are by new publishers with few ratings or mixed reviews, and some listings still claim Power BI and Power Pages coverage after the update. Read recent reviews before buying.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual PL-900 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Microsoft's exam policies count brain dumps as cheating and let Microsoft revoke your certifications and bar you from future exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use PL-900 practice tests

  • Start with the Microsoft assessment. Take it before studying to see which of the five areas you miss, then again after the Learn path. Candidates call it a fair guide to the older topics.
  • Read the explanation for every miss and every guess. Write down which tool fits and why. PL-900 rewards matching a need to Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse or Copilot Studio.
  • Spend as much time on Copilot Studio as on Power Apps. Build one small agent with topics, a knowledge source and a published channel in a free developer environment, and read how agents are monitored and evaluated.
  • Use paid sets for the older areas, then stop. Run MeasureUp or Whizlabs for Dataverse, governance, Power Apps and Power Automate, and avoid memorising repeats. Passers who scored 870 and 871 both recall many Copilot Studio questions.

PL-900 practice test FAQ

Are there free PL-900 practice tests?

Yes. Microsoft's free practice assessment on the PL-900 certification page is the main one, and Whizlabs includes a free test on its PL-900 page.

Has the Microsoft PL-900 practice assessment been updated for 2026?

Candidates who took the exam after 24 July 2026 say it is useful for Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse but has little on Copilot Studio, so it is not enough on its own.

Do PL-900 practice tests cover Copilot Studio?

MeasureUp's set was last updated in August 2025 and Whizlabs' topic quizzes follow the older outline, so neither is built around the new agents area. Study that area from Microsoft Learn and hands-on use.

How many PL-900 practice tests should I take?

Take the Microsoft assessment until your results hold steady, add one paid set for volume, and spend the remaining time on Copilot Studio rather than repeating the same questions.
