Professional Scrum Master - AI Essentials (PSM-AI Essentials) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of how Scrum Masters use AI to support teams, including prompting, AI fundamentals, security and ethics.

PSM-AI Essentials is 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes on AI for Scrum Masters, prompting, AI theory and AI security and ethics, framed around Scrum Team situations. We compared the main options on question style, explanations and price.

Few practice sets exist, so most people should start with Scrum.org's free Scrum Master AI Open, then add TheScrumMaster.co.uk's free 20-question test and its larger paid set.

Official free baseline

Scrum Master AI Open

Scrum.org's own practice test on how Scrum Masters use AI: 10 questions drawn at random from a larger pool, with no certification attached. Scrum.org says its Open tests are easier than the certification tests.

Great fit if you want an official read on your AI-for-Scrum-Masters knowledge in a few minutes.

Poor fit if you want a longer test; it is only 10 questions per attempt, so add TheScrumMaster.co.uk's free 20-question test.

Free timed mock

Free Scrum Master AI Essentials (PSM-AI Essentials) Practice Assessment

A 20-question mock in 30 minutes, half the length of the real test, with feedback on every answer. It uses multiple choice, multiple answer and true/false items.

Great fit if you want a second free check with explanations after Scrum Master AI Open.

Poor fit if you want broad coverage or a full 40-question run; the paid set has more questions but no timer.

Largest question set

Ultimate Scrum Master AI Essentials (PSM-AI Essentials) Practice Assessment

A set of 90+ questions with feedback on every answer, written by TheScrumMaster.co.uk's principal trainer Simon Kneafsey. It has no time limit.

Great fit if you want more questions than the Open assessment before you buy the PSM-AI Essentials password.

Poor fit if you want timed 40-question runs; it is untimed and includes multiple-answer and true/false items the real test, which is multiple choice only, does not use.

What to look for in a PSM-AI Essentials practice test

  • Questions on using AI in Scrum Master work. The test covers four categories: AI for Scrum Masters, effective AI prompting, AI theory and primer, and AI security and ethics. Pick questions framed as Scrum Team situations, not general machine learning facts.
  • The real format is multiple choice only. Scrum.org lists 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. TheScrumMaster.co.uk's sets also use multiple-answer and true/false items, which is fine for learning but is not what you will see.
  • Few banks exist, so check the maker. The test is new and the field is thin. Only Scrum Master AI Open comes from Scrum.org; TheScrumMaster.co.uk states its assessments are not created or endorsed by Scrum.org, and newer Udemy listings have almost no ratings.
  • Explanations over question count. A 10-question Open and a 20-question free test are enough for a diagnostic. For a bigger set, choose the one that explains why each option is right or wrong.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual PSM-AI Essentials questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Scrum.org's assessment rules require that you have seen none of the answers in advance, and Scrum.org can revoke your certifications and disable your account. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use PSM-AI Essentials practice tests

  • Refresh Scrum first. The questions are framed around Scrum Master work, so reread the Scrum Guide before anything AI-specific.
  • Take Scrum Master AI Open as a diagnostic. Sort each miss into one of the four categories, then study that category before taking another test.
  • Practise prompts with a real AI tool. Write a prompt for a Retrospective or Sprint Planning task, then add role, context and the output you want. You will recognise a better prompt faster.
  • Rehearse the 40-question, 60-minute pace late. The free 20-question test in 30 minutes is half-length. Run it twice, or add the paid set, to get through 40 questions at the real pace.
