Validates knowledge of SAFe product ownership, covering backlogs, PI Planning, iteration execution and applying AI.
The SAFe POPM exam tests whether you can run the product owner and product manager roles on an Agile Release Train: backlogs, PI Planning, iteration execution and using AI in product work. Most candidates prepare through the two-day POPM class, review the course material by domain and use the practice test to find gaps.

Attend the POPM class or study the same six domains on your own, then review by domain and use the practice test to find gaps.
Most candidates spend 20–35 hours. Plan for the low end if you take the class and already work as a product owner; add time if you study without a class.

The POPM class is the usual preparation. If you study on your own, use the exam details and the SAFe Framework articles for each domain.
Use the official practice test in your SAFe Studio learning plan. It has the same number of questions, difficulty, time limit and domains as the exam. If you buy only the exam, study from the exam details and Framework articles instead.
Read the Framework articles as well as practice tests.
One r/agile candidate scored 96% on the official practice test and failed the SAFe 6.0 exam with 76%. Other commenters advised reading the Framework articles linked at the end of each lesson, not only repeating the practice test.
