AWS Certified Security – Specialty (SCS-C03) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of securing AWS workloads, including threat detection, incident response, infrastructure security, identity, data protection and governance.

SCS-C03 is 65 questions (50 scored) in 170 minutes: multiple choice, multiple response, ordering and matching. Questions are long multi-account scenarios where two answers look right, and ordering and matching score only when every part is correct. What to look for in a AWS Certified Security – Specialty practice test

  • Match the exam code. SCS-C03 is the current exam and replaced SCS-C02, so check that any set names SCS-C03. A November 2025 community guide warned that some third-party material still followed the C02 outline, and the sets here now list 2026 updates.
  • Practise the new question types. SCS-C03 adds ordering (3 to 5 steps) and matching (3 to 7 prompts) questions that give credit only when every part is right. One passer reported three, such as ordering the steps to connect a SAML provider to IAM Identity Center.
  • Expect long scenarios and a long sitting. The exam has 65 questions (50 scored) in 170 minutes, and candidates describe long multi-account scenarios where two options look right. Pick sets that explain why the other options fail.
  • Judge difficulty by publisher. Candidates call Tutorials Dojo close to the real exam and Maarek's sets harder and more complex. Use Tutorials Dojo to calibrate and Maarek's to stretch.
  • Read scores by domain. The six domains weigh 16% (detection), 14% (incident response), 18% (infrastructure), 20% (identity), 18% (data protection) and 14% (governance). Sets that report by domain show where to review.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual SCS-C03 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. AWS's certification agreement bans using leaked exam content and lets AWS revoke some or all of your AWS certifications. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use AWS Certified Security – Specialty practice tests

  • Take AWS's free set first. Do the 20 questions before you study heavily and read every explanation, including the ones you got right.
  • Learn the service integrations. Passers say many questions chain services, such as GuardDuty to EventBridge to SNS, or Config to Systems Manager Automation. Review explanations for the chain, not just the final service.
  • Work in your own account. Candidates warn that some security services such as WAF, Network Firewall and Shield Advanced cost money, so use short tests and read the docs for the rest. KMS and IAM policy edge cases appear often.
  • Use review mode, then timed mode. Learn from Tutorials Dojo in review mode first, then sit timed sets. One candidate stopped Dojo's review mode early because its questions repeated the timed sets.
  • Finish with the Official Pretest. Take it in the last week or two under real conditions, 65 questions in 170 minutes, and spend the remaining days on the domains where you lost marks.
