- You have years of architecture experience and production LLM work
- You advise clients or leadership on security and design tradeoffs

Most useful if you already do the work
Experienced architects describe it as validation of what they already do. Sales engineers without a technical background were told it is a weak signal alone, useful mainly for roles at Anthropic partners.
Outside the Claude partner world, reactions are mixed
Passers say it matters most at Anthropic partners or companies building on Claude. One post celebrating all four Claude certifications drew replies that a real project shows more.

Who can take the Claude Certified Architect – Professional exam?
People who work at Claude Partner Network organizations, registering with a recognized company email. Partner Network membership is free for organizations that bring Claude to market.
Do I need Architect – Foundations first?
No. They are separate exams with no formal prerequisite. Candidates newer to Claude often take Foundations first.
How much does the CCAR-P exam cost?
$175. Select and Preferred partners get 50% off. Global Premier partners take it free until December 31, 2026, then get 50% off.
Is Professional harder than Foundations?
Candidates disagree. Some experienced architects found it less technical than Foundations; others found it harder than practice tests suggested, especially the multiple-response items.
