CompTIA Data+ (DA0-002) Practice Tests

Validates foundational data analytics skills across data concepts, acquisition and preparation, analysis, visualization, reporting and data governance.

Data+ DA0-002 is up to 90 questions in 90 minutes: multiple choice plus performance-based questions (PBQs). The questions are short scenarios on data cleaning, SQL joins, statistics and choosing the right chart. We compared the main options on version coverage, PBQ coverage and price.

Start with CompTIA's free 10-question test, then add CertMaster Practice for exam-style timing and PBQs. Skip older Data+ practice sets, including Jason Dion's, because they were written for the retired DA0-001.

Free first look

Data+ Practice Test (V2)

Ten multiple-choice questions from CompTIA for the current exam, with an answer key at the end. They cover SQL joins, RegEx, data tables and chart choice, so you see the real wording straight away.

Great fit if you want to see CompTIA's own question style before paying for anything.

Poor fit if you need explanations, PBQs or a timed full run; use CertMaster Practice.

Official timed exams

CertMaster Practice for Data+ (V2)

CompTIA's own practice tool, with timed and untimed exams, objective quizzes and a readiness score for each domain. Candidates say its exam includes PBQs, and one scored within a few points of the real result.

Great fit if you want official questions with PBQs, or you are buying the exam with a retake anyway: the $368 bundle costs $24 more than voucher and retake alone.

Poor fit if you only want cheap extra questions; the Sybex test bank costs less.

Bundled with book

Sybex Online Test Bank (Data+ Study Guide, 2nd edition)

Two online practice tests and flashcards that unlock with the Sybex Data+ study guide. They have no PBQs, and candidates disagree on difficulty: one found them close to the exam, another trickier.

Great fit if you are buying the Sybex guide anyway and want two extra practice tests at no cost.

Poor fit if you want PBQs or a large question bank; use CertMaster Practice or Crucial Exams.

Domain drills with PBQs

CompTIA Data+ DA0-002 Practice Tests

A 266-question bank with five PBQs, 156 flashcards and AI-generated explanations. You build timed tests by domain, and the free demo gives up to 20 questions per test.

Great fit if you want a subscription bank to drill by domain and a PBQ preview, and will try the free demo first.

Poor fit if you want a one-time purchase; the Sybex test bank costs less.

What to look for in a Data+ practice test

  • Match the exam code. DA0-002 launched on October 14, 2025 and is the only Data+ exam; DA0-001 retired on April 14, 2026 in English. Dion's six-exam Udemy set and MeasureUp's practice test are still written for DA0-001, so they miss the newer AI concepts and reweighted domains.
  • Expect short scenarios on SQL, statistics and charts. The exam is up to 90 questions in 90 minutes, mixing multiple choice and PBQs. Candidates say they needed to know what variance and standard deviation are for rather than calculate them, and several saw Gantt charts among the answer options.
  • Treat PBQ practice as a separate need. CertMaster Practice and Crucial Exams include PBQ-style tasks; the Sybex tests and CompTIA's free sample do not. Candidates say the PBQs are what most other practice sets leave out.
  • Be careful with unvetted Udemy sets. Several DA0-002 sets with 500 to 1,200 questions exist, but most have few enrolled learners and little candidate feedback. One candidate who tried a six-exam set scored 98% without studying and called the questions shallow.
  • Get scores by domain. The five domains carry 20%, 22%, 24%, 20% and 14%, so a tool that reports by domain or objective shows where to study, especially Data Analysis at 24%.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual DA0-002 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. CompTIA's candidate agreement counts using brain dumps as misconduct and lets CompTIA revoke every CompTIA certification you hold. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use Data+ practice tests

  • Take a short test cold as a diagnostic. Start with CompTIA's free 10 questions or a first CertMaster Practice quiz before heavy study, and read the explanations for the questions you got right as well as wrong.
  • Log misses by domain. Write each miss against its domain (1.0 to 5.0), go back to that topic, then retest it. A weak domain shows up faster than one overall score.
  • Learn what each measure and chart is for. Practise choosing between mean, median and standard deviation, and between line, bar, scatter and histogram, since questions ask which fits a scenario.
  • Use more than one question source. Candidates who passed recommend taking several tests for exposure to different wording, and say a single key word can change the answer. Pair CertMaster Practice with the Sybex tests or a question bank.
  • Finish with a full timed run. In the last week, sit a 90-minute exam including PBQs, and do not retake a test until you have forgotten the answers.

Data+ practice test FAQ

Are there free Data+ practice tests?

Yes. CompTIA publishes 10 free DA0-002 questions with an answer key and no sign-up, and Crucial Exams has a free demo with up to 20 questions per test.

Does Jason Dion have Data+ practice exams?

Only for the retired DA0-001. In 2026 candidates report he has no DA0-002 set, and a DA0-001 set leaves out about 20% of the current exam's content.

Are Data+ practice tests harder than the real exam?

Reports are few and mixed. One candidate scored within a few points of the real result on CertMaster Practice, while two candidates split on the Sybex tests, one finding them similar and the other trickier.

Do Data+ practice tests include PBQs?

CertMaster Practice and Crucial Exams do, with Crucial listing five. CompTIA's free sample and the Sybex tests are multiple choice only.
