How to choose a Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate course

  • Match the May 2026 exam version. The version live since May 4, 2026 covers Auto Loader, Lakeflow Connect, Lakeflow Jobs, bundles and Unity Catalog. Older material uses earlier names for the same features.
  • Practise in a real workspace. Build each pipeline step yourself in Databricks Free Edition while you follow the course. Watching alone does not prepare you for the code-based questions.
  • Pick one main course. Use one course for structure and Free Edition for practice. The exam has 45 scored questions in 90 minutes, and a single course covers the outline.
  • Treat official training as optional. The exam guide recommends Data Engineering with Databricks, but there is no prerequisite and the 16-hour class costs $1,500.
