GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer (GH-600) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of running AI coding agents in GitHub workflows, including tool use, state, evaluation, orchestration and guardrails.

GH-600 gives 120 minutes; GitHub publishes no question count. Questions are scenario-based and artifact-heavy: candidates report reading agent YAML, MCP configuration, Actions workflows and Copilot CLI logs, plus two case studies. We compared the main options on case-study practice, hands-on labs and price.

GitHub publishes no practice assessment for it, so the options are few. Start with the free community mock and labs, then add a low-cost bank for volume.

GH-600 Study Guide and Mock Exam

A community repository with a 41-question mock exam and answer key, 67 flashcards and six hands-on labs, all mapped to the six exam domains. Published in May 2026 and unofficial.

Great fit if you want a free first pass plus labs for the configuration files the exam asks you to read.

Poor fit if you need many questions or several full-length runs; add agenticlately or the Udemy set.

Case-study practice

GH-600 Practice Pack

Original scenario questions with immediate explanations and official-doc links, four case studies and two fixed 45-question mocks with a timer. The same site has a free 63-lesson course.

Great fit if you want case-study practice and explanations tied to the docs at a low one-time price.

Poor fit if you want a big bank for repeat full runs, since 180 questions go quickly; add the Udemy set.

Largest question bank

GH-600: Developing in Agentic AI Systems - Practice Tests

Six sets of single-answer scenario questions on agents, MCP tools, memory, security and governance, each with an explanation. It is the largest GH-600 set on Udemy, but has few ratings so far.

Great fit if you want the most questions to practise on and can use them alongside the free mock.

Poor fit if you want case studies or a rated, long-established course; use agenticlately's pack and treat this as extra volume.

What to look for in a GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer practice test

  • Match the six GH-600 domains. The exam (Developing in Agentic AI Systems) weights tool use and MCP at 20-25%, architecture and SDLC, evaluation and multi-agent coordination at 15-20% each, and memory and guardrails at 10-15% each. Some Udemy titles still say Beta, so check that a bank's domains match this list rather than the label.
  • Look for configuration and log questions. Candidates describe reading agent YAML, JSON, MCP config, hooks, Actions snippets and Copilot CLI session logs, then choosing the right field or interpretation. Pure definition questions under-prepare you, so prefer banks with code and config snippets and do the labs.
  • Case studies are part of the exam. Candidates report two case studies, a long scenario followed by several questions. Of the banks here, only agenticlately's pack lists case studies.
  • Treat new banks as lightly proven. GH-600 is new, and every bank here was written from the public outline by an individual author with few ratings. Check any answer that looks wrong against GitHub Docs.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual GH-600 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items, not practice. Use products that write their own questions and explain every answer, so you learn the reasoning the exam tests.

How to use GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer practice tests

  • Take the free mock as a diagnostic. Sit the community mock before you study heavily, then use the results to pick which domain to start with. Tool use and MCP carries the most weight.
  • Practise reading artifacts, not just answers. Write a custom agent file, an MCP server entry and a workflow that calls an agent, then read the logs it produces. The study guide's own bullets are written as configure and implement tasks.
  • Log misses by domain. Record each miss against one of the six domains and reread the matching GitHub Docs page, so the weak domain shows up faster than one overall score.
  • Rehearse the case studies and pacing late. Do a full timed set near your exam date, including the case-study format. Candidates report two case studies, and Microsoft says most of its exams have 40 to 60 questions, so pace yourself for long scenarios.
  • See the interface first. GitHub's exam sandbox lets you try the real exam interface and question types for free, so there are no surprises on test day.

GitHub Certified: Agentic AI Developer practice test FAQ

Is there an official GH-600 practice test?

No. Microsoft's GH-600 page offers a study guide and a free exam sandbox that demonstrates the interface, but no practice assessment, unlike GH-100.

Are there free GH-600 practice questions?

Yes. A community repository has a free 41-question mock and labs, and agenticlately offers free sample questions and a free lesson course before its paid pack.

What do GH-600 exam questions look like?

Microsoft says most of its exams have 40 to 60 questions. Candidates report two case studies, with many questions on GitHub Actions workflows, Copilot CLI and agent configuration files. You read YAML, JSON or logs and choose the right setting; you do not type commands.

How many GH-600 practice tests should I take?

There is no official number. The banks are small, 180 to 376 questions, so one free mock plus one paid bank is enough for most candidates when you review every miss against the docs.
