Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer (PMLE) Practice Tests

Validates skills in building, deploying, automating and monitoring machine learning and generative AI solutions on Google Cloud.

Professional Machine Learning Engineer questions are long scenarios (50 to 60 in two hours) on running ML and generative AI services on Google Cloud; the exam guide changed on June 1, 2026. We compared the main options on question style, current coverage and price.

Start with Google's free 8-question sample, then add GCP Study Hub for current exams and Cameron McKenzie's larger Udemy bank for extra volume.

Free first look

Professional Machine Learning Engineer Sample Questions

Eight questions in Google's exam style that already use the new Agent Platform names. The form gives no answer key or explanations, so you check each answer against the documentation.

Great fit if you want Google's real wording and the post-June 2026 product names before spending anything.

Poor fit if you need volume, explanations or a timed run; use GCP Study Hub or Cameron McKenzie's exams.

Course plus practice exams

GCP Professional ML Engineer Certification Course

Seven practice exams plus a random 50-question, two-hour simulator, sold inside a video course with labs. Every question has an explanation, and the course now teaches the Agent Platform names.

Great fit if you want current practice exams, video lessons and labs in one subscription.

Poor fit if you want a one-time price or the largest question bank; use Cameron McKenzie's exams.

Large drill bank

Official Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer Exams

Six exams graded from Intermediate to Legendary, including a 250-question lightning round, updated July 2026 and mentioning Agent Platform. Despite the name, it is not a Google product.

Great fit if you want a large bank of harder questions to drill after your first pass.

Poor fit if you want exams organised by the exam guide's six sections; Study Hub's follow the guide.

What to look for in a PMLE practice test

  • Built for the June 1, 2026 guide. Vertex AI is now Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and the six sections are weighted about 13%, 16%, 21%, 20%, 18% and 13%, with new generative AI topics such as Model Garden, LLM evaluation and Model Armor. Banks written before June use the old names and under-test these topics.
  • Questions that ask you to choose between services. Questions give a business case and ask which approach fits, for example BigQuery ML, AutoML or custom training. Look for sets that explain why each wrong option fails, not just the key.
  • Judge by Google's own questions. One candidate scoring in the high 70s to 80 on Udemy sets got 7 of 17 on Google's earlier sample questions. Treat Google's questions as the truer measure and a third-party bank as extra volume.
  • Enough fresh questions for two or three full runs. The real exam has 50 to 60 questions, Google's sample only 8, while Cameron McKenzie's bank has 540 and Study Hub has seven full exams. Retaking questions you remember measures memory, not skill.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual Professional ML Engineer questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Google Cloud's exam terms ban using exam content found online and let Google revoke any or all of your certifications and bar you from the program. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use PMLE practice tests

  • Start with Google's sample, untimed. Take the 8 questions before you study in depth, then look up every answer in the documentation. The misses show which of the six sections to study first.
  • Review every explanation, including right guesses. Most questions hinge on one constraint such as cost, latency, data location or how little code you want to write. Note which constraint decided the answer.
  • Track weak areas by section. The six sections cover low-code AI, data and model collaboration, scaling prototypes, serving, pipelines and monitoring. Tally misses per section so a strong serving score does not hide weak monitoring.
  • Run a full two-hour exam late. Do at least one timed run near your exam date; 50 to 60 questions in two hours is about two minutes each. Study Hub's simulator serves 50 random questions in two hours.
  • Do not memorise repeats. Once you know a set's answers it stops measuring anything. Move to a fresh set and judge progress by your trend within each product.

PMLE practice test FAQ

Are there free Professional Machine Learning Engineer practice tests?

Yes. Google publishes a free 8-question sample as a form that asks for your name and email; candidates reported 15 to 17 questions in earlier versions. It is a quick check, not a full-length exam.

Are the practice exams harder than the real Professional Machine Learning Engineer exam?

Candidates disagree. Some found Google's sample harder than the exam, one rated Study Hub and Google's sample about 7 out of 10 against 9 out of 10 for the real exam, and Udemy sets are often described as more forgiving than Google's questions.

How many Professional Machine Learning Engineer practice exams should I take?

Two or three full timed runs on questions you have not seen, each followed by a thorough review, is a sensible target. Use the larger Udemy bank for drills by topic rather than repeating a set you remember.

What changed in the June 2026 Professional Machine Learning Engineer exam?

Vertex AI became Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform and the guide added generative AI topics such as Model Garden, LLM evaluation and Model Armor. BigQuery ML and MLOps remain central, so older banks are still useful for those.
