Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of administering Microsoft 365 tenants, including users, identity, security and compliance.

MS-102 runs 100 minutes (120 if it includes labs), and Microsoft says most of its exams have 40 to 60 questions. It retires on November 30, 2026. Expect long tenant-admin scenarios across Entra, Defender XDR and Purview, with a case study. We compared the main options on exam-style wording, current coverage and price.

Start with Microsoft's free practice assessment, then use MeasureUp's 123 questions for full-length practice, because few other sets cover the current outline.

Great fit if you want a free check of the official question style before paying for anything.

Poor fit if you need long scenario practice or a timed full run; use MeasureUp.

MS-102 Official Practice Test

Microsoft's official practice-test partner, with a timed certification mode and a practice mode where you choose topics. Explanations cover correct and incorrect options and link to Microsoft docs. Candidates call it hard.

Great fit if you want full-length, scenario-style practice and can use the 30 to 60 days of access before the exam retires.

Poor fit if you want a big bank or a cheap option; 123 questions are about two exams' worth.

What to look for in a MS-102 practice test

  • Allow for the retirement date. MS-102 can be taken until November 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time. The expert certification also needs one qualifying associate exam, which you can pass before or after MS-102, so book the exam early and buy a product whose access period outlasts your test date.
  • Match the April 28, 2026 skills list. The exam is 40 to 60 questions in 100 minutes, weighted to Defender XDR (30 to 35%), Entra (25 to 30%) and tenant management (25 to 30%), with Purview at 10 to 15%. MeasureUp's set was last updated in November 2025; Microsoft's changes in April were minor.
  • Look for long scenarios, not trivia. Questions give a tenant setup and ask which policy, role or setting fixes it, plus a case study, drag and drop and Yes/No hot-area items. Sets that explain why each option is wrong help most.
  • Expect few third-party options. Tutorials Dojo has no MS-102 set, and the exam retires in weeks, so little new content is being written. Microsoft's assessment and MeasureUp are the two options candidates use most.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual MS-102 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Microsoft's exam policies count brain dumps as cheating and let Microsoft revoke your certifications and bar you from future exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use MS-102 practice tests

  • Start with Microsoft's free assessment. Use it as a diagnostic across the four skill areas before you pay for anything.
  • Run MeasureUp in Certification Mode, then read every explanation. A candidate who passed with 790 rated its exam mode 9 out of 10 and reviewed every wrong answer afterwards. Do not retake it until you have studied your misses.
  • Log misses by skill area. Tag each miss as tenant, Entra, Defender XDR or Purview. Candidates report Defender for Cloud Apps, Conditional Access and Entra Connect sync questions appearing in numbers.
  • Build the settings in a trial tenant. Practice tests will not show you where a setting lives. Candidates recommend a 30-day Microsoft 365 E5 trial or a developer tenant to build the policies yourself.
  • Search Microsoft Learn under time pressure. Learn is open during the exam. Rehearse finding role names, policy types and settings quickly, and flag long questions to revisit.
