How to choose a SC-200 course

  • Match the October 21 update. The English exam moves to an updated skills list on October 21, 2026, with a minor change to Sentinel data ingestion. John Christopher's course is updated for the October 2026 exam.
  • Do the labs. SC-200 is mostly Sentinel and Defender configuration and response. Build a lab workspace and work through incidents, whichever course you choose.
  • Practise KQL every week. You must find the right table and filter without guessing. Kusto Detective Agency is a free way to build that fluency.
  • Watch your Azure costs. Sentinel and Defender labs run in your own Azure subscription and can incur charges, so delete the workspace when you finish.
