Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst (Analytics-DA-201) Practice Tests

Validates skills in connecting to and transforming data, analyzing it with calculations, and building and publishing Tableau dashboards.

The Tableau Data Analyst exam is 60 multiple-choice or multiple-select questions plus up to five unscored, in 105 minutes, closed book. Questions lean on calculated fields, table calculations and LOD expressions, with Tableau Prep and Tableau Server or Cloud also tested. We compared the main options on topic coverage, explanations and price.

Most people should start with Salesforce's free Cert Prep module, then add one or two Udemy sets, because the scored practice banks come from third parties.

Free official review

Cert Prep: Tableau Data Analyst

A Trailhead module with scenarios and click-to-reveal interactivities for each of the four exam sections. It reviews key topics from the exam guide rather than testing you with a scored exam.

Great fit if you want free, official revision of the four exam sections before you buy practice questions.

Poor fit if you want scored, timed tests; use the Udemy sets below.

Exam-style practice

Tableau Data Analyst Certification 2026 - Practice Exams

Three 60-question exams and two 15-question bonus exams on calculations and Tableau Prep. Solutions link to Tableau documentation, and domain reports show where you are weak. Updated April 2026.

Great fit if you want exam-style questions with domain reports before you book, and can handle a harder set.

Poor fit if you want a larger bank; add the Vivek P. tests.

Extra full-length tests

Mock Test Series: Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst

Three 60-question tests in the current multiple-choice format, with screenshots and links to Tableau documentation. The listing also bundles a hands-on lab and Associate-exam tests from older versions of the exam.

Great fit if you want three more full-length tests, with screenshots in the explanations, after another set.

Poor fit if you want only current-format questions; skip the older lab and Associate tests in the listing.

What to look for in a Tableau Data Analyst practice test

  • Match the current exam format. Salesforce's guide says the exam tests Tableau 2024.2, with 60 multiple-choice and multiple-select questions plus up to five unscored, in 105 minutes. Candidates confirm the hands-on lab is gone, so skip sets built around it.
  • Weight your practice by section. Explore and Analyze Data is 41% of the exam, Create Content 26%, Connect to and Transform Data 24% and Publish and Manage Content 9%. Pick a set that reports by section and puts most questions on calculations, filters, parameters and LOD expressions.
  • Make sure Prep, Server and Cloud are included. Tableau Prep work sits inside the 24% Connect to and Transform Data section, and publishing to Tableau Server or Cloud is another 9%. A set that is all Desktop leaves those topics untested.
  • Prefer explanations that cite Tableau documentation. Candidates describe the exam as formula heavy and single out LOD expressions and table calculations. Answers that link to Tableau's help pages let you rebuild the calculation, not just memorise the result.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual Tableau Data Analyst questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Salesforce's certification agreement bans using exam content found online and lets Salesforce revoke your certifications and suspend you from its exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use Tableau Data Analyst practice tests

  • Take one full set cold as a diagnostic. Use one 60-question exam before you study heavily and note which of the four sections you miss most.
  • Rebuild every missed calculation in Tableau. For each wrong answer on a calculated field, table calculation or LOD question, rebuild it on sample data in Tableau Desktop to see why the other options fail.
  • Practise Prep and Server or Cloud separately. Use the Cert Prep module and Tableau's help pages for Tableau Prep and for publishing and permissions, because few practice sets drill those topics in depth.
  • Do a timed 105-minute run late. In the last week or two, sit a full set in one session and read each question and answer choice carefully. Candidates describe some questions as oddly worded.
  • Compare scores within one publisher. A candidate who passed called Daria Kirilenko's exams harder than the real ones, so judge progress by your trend within each set and do not retake a set you remember.

Tableau Data Analyst practice test FAQ

Are there free Tableau Data Analyst practice tests?

Salesforce's free Trailhead Cert Prep module reviews each exam section with scenarios, but it is not a scored test. The main scored practice sets are paid Udemy courses at roughly $20 to $55.

Are Tableau Data Analyst practice tests harder than the real exam?

Reports differ by set. One recent passer found Daria Kirilenko's exams harder than the real questions, while another candidate who scored in the 80s on third-party practice sets passed the real exam by only three questions.

How many Tableau Data Analyst practice exams should I take?

There is no official number. Two or three full 60-question runs on questions you have not seen, each followed by rebuilding what you missed in Tableau, is a sensible target.

What question types are on the Tableau Data Analyst exam?

Multiple choice and multiple select only. Practical demonstration is not tested, but questions expect you to know calculated fields, LOD expressions, table calculations, filters, parameters, Tableau Prep and publishing options.
