TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Foundation (OGEA-101) Practice Tests

Validates foundational knowledge of the TOGAF Standard, including core concepts, the Architecture Development Method, architecture governance and content.

TOGAF Foundation (OGEA-101) is 40 closed-book multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes on TOGAF terms, the ADM phases and the structure of the Standard, so full 40-question sets are the right practice. We compared the main options on official wording, explanations and price.

Most people should start with The Open Group's $15 practice test to see the real formats, then add one explained third-party pack for volume.

Official exam format

TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Part 1 Practice Test

The exam owner's own Part 1 test, using the real question formats and questions of varying difficulty. Some passing candidates found the real exam more detailed on diagrams and definitions.

Great fit if you want to see the real question formats and where you stand before booking the exam.

Poor fit if you want several full sets to repeat; add the Udemy pack from Schulz and Smuda. The $34.99 Foundation Study Guide also includes a full practice paper.

Explained mock exams

Practice Test Pack for the TOGAF EA Foundation Certification

Six mock exams from two TOGAF trainers, each answer explained with references to the TOGAF documentation, plus 20 test-taking tips. A candidate who passed Foundation with 80% in October 2026 used it.

Great fit if you want many explained full-length sets after the official test.

Poor fit if you want only official wording; the Open Group test is the closest match to the real exam.

Both exam parts

EA TOGAF 10 Foundation & Practitioner practice tests

Three full Part 1 exams plus three Part 2 scenario exams, refreshed for the 10th Edition in 2024 and again in June 2026. More than 500 ratings, and a Part 2 passer in July 2026 used it.

Great fit if you plan to go on to Practitioner and want Part 1 and Part 2 sets in one purchase.

Poor fit if you only need Part 1; the Schulz and Smuda pack has twice as many Part 1 questions.

What to look for in a TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Foundation practice test

  • Written for OGEA-101 and the 10th Edition. The exam is 40 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes, closed book. The Open Group still sells TOGAF 9 practice tests, so look for OGEA-101 or the 10th Edition on the product page.
  • Full 40-question sets that follow the exam weights. Part 1 draws 8 questions from Concepts, 14 from the ADM, 6 from ADM techniques, 4 from applying the ADM, 3 from governance and 5 from architecture content. The ADM is the largest block, so the bank should lean on phase purposes and objectives.
  • Explanations that point back to the Standard. Questions test precise definitions, such as deliverable versus artifact or the purpose of each phase, so an explanation that cites the TOGAF text lets you fix a miss quickly.
  • Diagram and definition recall. A candidate who passed both parts reports that the real Part 1 asks you to identify diagrams and definitions in more detail than the official practice test. Look for banks that include diagram questions.
  • Official wording first, volume second. The Open Group practice test shows the real formats, and third-party packs add repetitions. Use the official test to judge the style and the packs to build speed.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual TOGAF Foundation questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. The Open Group treats brain dumps as cheating and can cancel your score, revoke your certification and ban you from its exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Foundation practice tests

  • Take the official test cold. Sit The Open Group test before you study in depth, then read the Foundation Study Guide on the areas you missed.
  • Understand each answer instead of memorising it. A candidate who passed with 80% in October 2026 spent time on why each answer was right and how ADM concepts relate. Memorised answers do not help on re-worded questions.
  • Track misses by syllabus area. Keep a tally across the six areas, and give the ADM, which has 14 of the 40 questions, the most review.
  • Rehearse timed full sets late. Forty questions in 60 minutes leaves about 90 seconds each. Do two or three full sets under time in the last week.
  • Move on once questions repeat. When you start remembering answers, a set stops measuring anything. Switch to a fresh set or to your weakest area.

TOGAF Enterprise Architecture Foundation practice test FAQ

Are there free TOGAF Foundation practice tests?

The Open Group sells its Part 1 test for $14.99, and its $34.99 Foundation Study Guide includes a full practice paper. Free sets online come from training sites rather than The Open Group, so use them only for extra repetitions.

Is the real TOGAF Foundation exam harder than the practice tests?

A passing candidate called Foundation straightforward with the study guide. Another who passed both parts found the real Part 1 more detailed on diagrams and definitions than the official practice test.

How many TOGAF Foundation practice tests should I take?

There is no set number. Two or three full 40-question sets under time, each reviewed in full, is a sensible target, and more sets help less than reviewing your misses.

Is the TOGAF Foundation exam open book?

No. Part 1 is closed book with 40 single-answer questions in 60 minutes. Only Part 2 of the Practitioner exam is open book.
