Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of AI governance foundations, relevant laws and frameworks, and governing AI development and deployment.

AIGP is 100 multiple-choice questions (85 scored) in 2.75 hours, about 30% tied to case studies. Questions apply AI governance principles, laws and frameworks to realistic situations, including multi-question scenarios, so good practice has to go beyond recall. We compared the main options on exam-style wording, scenario difficulty and price.

Most people should start with IAPP's 100-question practice exam as a checkpoint. Add a second source such as Dr. David's masterclass or 22Academy's trial exam for harder scenario wording.

Official question style

AIGP Practice Exam Digital

One 100-question exam in a PDF with the correct answer and an explanation for each question. Candidates find its style fair but its questions easier than the real exam's layered scenarios.

Great fit if you want IAPP's own question style and a baseline before booking.

Poor fit if you treat a high score as proof you are ready; add scenario practice from Dr. David or 22Academy.

Video plus 600 questions

AIGP Certification Masterclass

A full video course with 600 practice questions, flashcards and weekly office hours. The questions come bundled with the course rather than as a separate bank.

Great fit if you want teaching and a large question bank in one purchase.

Poor fit if you only want practice questions; IAPP's exam and a $20 Udemy set cost far less.

Timed mock exam

AIGP Trial Exam

One full-length, timed 100-question simulation with analysis by domain and question type. A free 24-question assessment shows your score per domain; the monthly plan adds 2,000+ practice questions.

Great fit if you want one exam-length timed run with a breakdown by domain.

Poor fit if you want several full exams; it sells one trial exam at a time.

Cheap volume practice

IAPP AIGP Practice Exams 2026: 6 Full Tests, 600 Questions

Six 100-question tests, each answer explained and each wrong option explained, from an independent publisher. The page shows 4.5 stars from 34 ratings and states Body of Knowledge v2.1.

Great fit if you want a large, cheap bank to drill after studying.

Poor fit if you want IAPP-written wording; use IAPP's practice exam.

What to look for in a AIGP practice test

  • Match the Body of Knowledge version. The current outline is AIGP Body of Knowledge v2.1, effective 2 February 2026. Prefer products that name v2.1; IAPP's practice exam page names no version, and an April 2025 thread reports it then followed the previous outline.
  • Expect scenario judgement, not recall. The exam has 100 questions in 165 minutes plus a 15-minute break, mixing single-answer, multiple-response and scenario questions. Candidates report layered scenarios, MOST or LEAST accurate wording and plausible distractors, so favour sets that explain why each wrong option is wrong.
  • Cover development and deployment, not just law. IAPP's blueprint gives Domains III and IV, governing AI development and governing deployment and use, up to 25 questions each, the largest ranges. A bank that is mostly EU AI Act and privacy law leaves those gaps.
  • Do not rely on volume claims. Udemy lists many AIGP sets of 400 to 800 questions from independent authors whose ratings often number only in the dozens. Pick one that names v2.1 and use it next to IAPP's exam rather than stacking several.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual AIGP questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. The IAPP's handbook says using dump sites breaks its pre-exam agreement and lets the IAPP invalidate results and revoke certifications. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use AIGP practice tests

  • Take IAPP's practice exam as a baseline. Sit it in one timed block before heavy study or about two weeks out, and note your score by domain I to IV. Treat it as a map of weak areas, not a forecast.
  • Read every explanation. Review why each distractor is wrong, including on questions you got right. AIGP options are often all defensible, and the best answer is the one that fits the governance question asked.
  • Log misses against the four domains. Record each miss by domain and competency, reread that part of the Body of Knowledge, then retest it. A weak domain shows up faster than one overall percentage.
  • Finish with timed runs from a second publisher. In the last week or two, sit a full 100-question set under time. Several candidates who did well on IAPP's exam still found the real one trickier, so a second style of question helps.

AIGP practice test FAQ

Are there free AIGP practice tests?

Only in small amounts. IAPP sells its practice exam rather than giving it away, and free question sets online are small and unvetted, so plan on IAPP's exam plus one paid source.

Is IAPP's AIGP practice exam like the real exam?

The style is similar, but candidates say the real exam is harder, with more layered scenarios and MOST or LEAST accurate wording. Several scored well on the practice exam and still found the real one tricky, and some found the practice exam too easy.

How many AIGP practice tests should I take?

There is no official number. Most candidates in the threads use IAPP's exam plus one or two third-party sets or a course bank, and spend more time reviewing misses than taking extra exams.

What do AIGP exam questions look like?

The exam has 100 questions in 165 minutes, with a 15-minute break. Questions are single-answer, multiple-response (choose every correct option) or scenario-based, where one passage supports several questions.
