Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) Practice Tests

Validates foundational knowledge of cloud concepts, Azure architecture and services, and Azure management and governance.

AZ-900 runs 45 minutes, and Microsoft says most of its exams have 40 to 60 questions. Questions test whether you can match a business need to the right Azure concept or service, in multiple-choice, yes/no, drag-and-drop and drop-down items. We compared the main options on question style, explanations and price.

Most people should start with Microsoft's free practice assessment and add the free Inside Cloud and Security quiz. Use Tutorials Dojo for exam-style questions with explanations.

AZ-900 Practice Assessment

Official questions from Microsoft's exam team, with an answer, rationale and learning link for every question. Candidates call it mostly simple multiple choice, and its bank repeats quickly across attempts.

Great fit if you want a free baseline in your first week and a look at Microsoft's own wording.

Poor fit if you need exam-style drag-and-drop or drop-down items or fresh questions on every attempt; add Tutorials Dojo.

Free scenario drill

AZ-900 Practice Quiz

A free 100-question quiz of scenario-style questions, scored when you finish. Candidates say it is more detailed than the real exam and a good step up from Microsoft's free assessment.

Great fit if you want a free second set that is harder than Microsoft's before paying for a bank.

Poor fit if you want an explanation for every answer or several full timed exams; use Tutorials Dojo.

Explained answers

AZ-900 Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Practice Exams

A 150+ question bank in timed, review, section and randomized modes, with detailed explanations, reference links and flashcards. Its ten sets reuse the same 150+ questions across modes.

Great fit if you want cheap, exam-like practice with explanations that teach why each option is right or wrong.

Poor fit if you want a large bank of fresh questions; add Whizlabs or MeasureUp.

Larger question pool

AZ-900 Practice Tests

Twenty tests: full-length and section sets, a final test and a 30-question free test to try first. Every question has an explanation, and candidates describe the format as close to the real exam.

Great fit if you want a bigger bank than Tutorials Dojo at a similar price.

Poor fit if you want the newest outline; its latest update was February 2026, before Microsoft's July 2026 skills change.

Tough final check

Practice Test AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

Microsoft's official practice-test partner. Timed certification and customizable practice modes over questions mapped to the current objectives, updated June 2026, with a free demo. Candidates find it harder than the exam.

Great fit if you want a tough, exam-style simulation as a final check and can use it within the access window.

Poor fit if you are budget-conscious or want detailed explanations; Tutorials Dojo costs a fraction and explains better.

Easy warm-up sets

AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Original Practice Tests

Six timed 50-question tests from a popular Azure instructor, with explanations, last updated October 2025. Candidates find them easier than the real exam.

Great fit if you want extra easy reps to build confidence, or you already use Scott Duffy's course.

Poor fit if you want exam-level difficulty or the newest outline; use Tutorials Dojo or MeasureUp.

What to look for in a AZ-900 practice test

  • Check when the question bank was updated. Microsoft's skills outline changed on July 20, 2026, with minor edits to compute and networking, deployment tools and monitoring. MeasureUp lists a June 2026 update, Whizlabs February 2026 and Scott Duffy October 2025, while Tutorials Dojo and the free quiz show no date.
  • Look for the real question types. The exam mixes multiple choice, yes/no sets, drag-and-drop and drop-down items. Candidates describe Microsoft's free assessment as mostly simple multiple choice, and Tutorials Dojo says it simulates dropdown, drag-and-drop and hotspot items.
  • Prefer explanations that cover the wrong options. AZ-900 turns on look-alike services, such as availability zones versus sets or Azure Policy versus role-based access control. Microsoft's assessment links each answer to documentation, and candidates rate Tutorials Dojo's explanations above MeasureUp's.
  • Plan for fresh questions beyond the free sets. Candidates exhaust Microsoft's free bank within a few attempts, after which a high score reflects memory. A paid bank of 150 to 360 questions gives you new items, though Tutorials Dojo's ten sets reuse questions across modes.
  • Match difficulty to your purpose. Candidates call Microsoft's assessment and Scott Duffy's tests easier than the exam, Tutorials Dojo and Whizlabs close to it, and MeasureUp and the Inside Cloud and Security quiz harder. Use the harder sets last.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual AZ-900 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Microsoft's exam policies count brain dumps as cheating and let Microsoft revoke your certifications and bar you from future exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use AZ-900 practice tests

  • Take Microsoft's free assessment once as a baseline. Read every rationale, then move on. Repeating it until you score high mostly tests your memory of the answers.
  • Review every miss and every guess. Mark questions you were unsure about, and after each set read those along with the ones you got wrong. Write a line on why the wrong options fail.
  • Keep a list of look-alike services. Candidates who passed say the tricky items compare availability zones and regions, Advisor and Monitor, or Policy and RBAC. Note when each applies.
  • Run a timed set near the end. You get 45 minutes, and Microsoft says most of its exams have 40 to 60 questions. Time yourself on a Tutorials Dojo or MeasureUp set so the real pace feels familiar.
  • Compare scores within one product. MeasureUp marks multi-part items all-or-nothing while the real exam gives partial credit, so its scores run lower. Track your trend inside each product rather than across them.

AZ-900 practice test FAQ

Are there free AZ-900 practice tests?

Yes. Microsoft's practice assessment is free with unlimited attempts and a Microsoft account sign-in, Inside Cloud and Security offers a free 100-question quiz with no sign-up, and Whizlabs has a free 30-question test.

Are AZ-900 practice tests harder than the real exam?

It depends on the product. Microsoft's free assessment and Scott Duffy's tests are usually called easier, Tutorials Dojo and Whizlabs close, and MeasureUp harder. Some candidates also find the real exam wordier than all of them.

Is Microsoft's practice assessment enough to pass AZ-900?

Many candidates pass after using it with other sources, but several report scoring well on it and still failing or barely passing. Microsoft says its questions are not the same as the exam's.

How many AZ-900 practice tests should I take?

There is no official number. Candidates who share their prep usually take Microsoft's assessment once, then one or two other sources such as Tutorials Dojo, reviewing each miss before moving to a new set.
