Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional credential artwork

Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) Courses

Validates knowledge of running corporate compliance and ethics programs, including policies, oversight, training, monitoring, investigations and risk assessment.

A good CCEP course earns CEUs that CCB accepts and covers the six domains of the compliance and ethics content outline. We compared the two main options on CEUs earned, coverage, format and price.

Most people should start with SCCE's Basic Compliance & Ethics Academy, which earns live CEUs and covers the core program elements. Choose The Complete Compliance and Ethics Manual if you want a six-domain reference and 10 more CEUs.

Live CEUs and exam

Basic Compliance & Ethics Academy

A multi-day live SCCE event covering the core compliance and ethics program elements. It earns live CEUs, and many academies offer the optional paper CCEP exam on the last day for a separate fee.

Great fit if you want live CEUs, broad coverage and a chance to sit the exam in one event

Poor fit if you need the cheapest route to your CEUs; approved webinars and events from other organizations count too

Reference book

The Complete Compliance and Ethics Manual 2026

SCCE's two-volume reference on building and running a compliance and ethics program, updated every year. Passing its quiz earns 10 CEUs, which count toward your 20 but not as live.

Great fit if you want one reference across all six domains and 10 of your CEUs

Poor fit if you need live CEUs; choose the Basic Compliance & Ethics Academy

How to choose a CCEP course

  • Plan your 20 CEUs. CCB requires 20 CEUs earned in the 12 months before your exam, 10 of them live. The Academy earns live CEUs, while the Manual's quiz earns 10 that do not count as live.
  • Check your experience first. CCB publishes no study guide. Compare your work with the content outline and use training to fill the domains you have not worked in.
  • Try the free questions. CCB's free sample set uses retired exam questions on the real testing screen, so you see the style before you pay for training.
  • Buy the current edition. SCCE updates the Manual every year, so buy the 2026 edition.

Recommended CCEP course combinations

  • Live training: The Basic Compliance & Ethics Academy for live CEUs and the optional paper exam on the last day, then CCB's practice exam ($89).
  • Reference plus live events: The Complete Compliance and Ethics Manual ($399) for 10 CEUs and a six-domain reference, with live events for the other 10.
  • Before you commit: CCB's free sample question set to check the question style, then decide how much training you need.
