Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of running corporate compliance and ethics programs, including policies, oversight, training, monitoring, investigations and risk assessment.

CCEP is 115 multiple-choice questions (100 scored) in two hours. Questions are four-option scenarios that ask for the MOST appropriate or FIRST action, and CCB publishes no study guide. We compared the main options on official coverage, question style and price.

Most people should take CCB's free sample set before they apply, then use CCB's 50-question practice exam once approved. There is no established third-party question bank to add.

Free first look

CCEP Sample Question Set

Retired CCEP exam questions on the computerized testing platform used at test centers, so you see the real question style and screen controls. Open to anyone, before you apply.

Great fit if you are deciding whether to apply and want to see CCB's question style and testing screen.

Poor fit if you want volume or a full-length timed run; neither CCB product provides one.

Outline-linked questions

CCEP Practice Exam

Fifty multiple-choice questions, randomized on each attempt, with Detailed Content Outline references. CCB says it is not predictive of exam results and mainly helps you learn the testing program.

Great fit if you are approved to sit the exam and want unlimited attempts on CCB's own questions, tagged to the outline.

Poor fit if you are not yet approved, because access starts on approval; use the free sample set.

What to look for in a CCEP practice test

  • Know what the questions ask. The exam is 115 multiple-choice questions in two hours, 100 scored and 15 unscored, each with four options. The handbook's samples are short scenarios asking for the MOST appropriate or FIRST step, so practise judgment rather than recall.
  • Use the outline as your scorecard. The six domains carry 15, 17, 17, 17, 24 and 10 scored questions. Investigation and Responses, Discipline and Incentives is the largest, so check that any practice set tags questions to the outline.
  • Expect little official volume. The handbook prints five sample questions, CCB offers a free online sample set, and the paid practice exam has 50 questions against 115 on the real exam. None is a full-length run.
  • Be careful with third-party banks. The only dedicated Udemy set targets CCEP-I, the international exam, and has a single rating. Other sites selling CCEP questions are anonymous and carry no reviews, so treat them as unvetted.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual CCEP questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items, not practice. Use products that write their own questions and explain every answer, so you learn the reasoning the exam tests.

How to use CCEP practice tests

  • Try the sample set before you apply. Approval needs a year of compliance work and 20 approved CEUs, so the free set is the way to see the question style and testing screen first.
  • Save the practice exam for after approval. Access runs from approval to test day with unlimited randomized attempts. Log each miss against its outline reference and go back to that task before the next attempt.
  • Study beyond your own sector. One candidate from financial compliance reported questions on OSHA and missed by a single question. Read the outline's tasks and the government guidance behind them, such as the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
  • Time a full run yourself. No CCB tool simulates 115 questions in two hours, about a minute per question. Build a timed set from your own review and practise flagging a question and returning to it.

CCEP practice test FAQ

Are there free CCEP practice tests?

Yes. CCB offers a free sample set of retired questions open to anyone, and the Candidate Handbook prints five sample questions with answers. The 50-question practice exam is paid and only for approved candidates.

How much is the CCEP practice exam?

$89 for non-members and $69 for SCCE or HCCA members. Access runs from the day you are approved until the day you test, with unlimited attempts.

Is there a full-length CCEP practice test?

Not from CCB. Its practice exam has 50 questions and the real exam has 115, so time a longer run yourself from your own review.

Do CCEP practice tests predict the real exam?

CCB says neither the sample set nor the practice exam predicts your result. Use them for question style and the testing screen, and judge readiness against the content outline.
