How to choose a AZ-400 course

  • Match the current skills. Microsoft reweighted the AZ-400 domains in July 2026. Microsoft's own course follows the current syllabus, so use it to fill gaps in any paid course.
  • Build pipelines yourself. Pipelines make up about half of the exam. Practise in a free GitHub account and an Azure DevOps organization alongside any course.
  • Cover GitHub and Azure DevOps. The exam covers both. Choose a course that teaches work tracking, source control, pipelines, security and monitoring end to end.
  • Pick one main course. Use one full course and a second source only for topics that do not click. Several overlapping video courses add hours without much value.

Recommended AZ-400 course combinations

  • Employer pays: Pluralsight's AZ-400 path ($35/month with Cloud+), including its labs and practice exam, plus MeasureUp's practice test ($99 for 30 days) as a final check.
  • Demo-led learner: Coursera's AZ-400 specialization ($59/month) with Microsoft's practice assessment, then CertiAce's AZ-400 practice exams ($199/year) for case-study practice.
