GitHub Administration (GH-100) Exam Guide

Validates knowledge of managing GitHub Enterprise identities and access, environment setup, secure development, Actions governance and usage monitoring.

GH-100 tests whether you can run a GitHub Enterprise account: choose the right account model, connect an identity provider, set policies and security features, govern Actions and runners, and track usage and cost. Work through both official learning paths, practise in a GitHub Enterprise trial, and read GitHub Docs for the security and Actions settings.

Eligibility and booking

No required prerequisites. Anyone can book the exam.

Experience administering GitHub Enterprise

Recommended

Hands-on work with user identity and access, GitHub Actions, enterprise governance and GitHub Advanced Security features, on GitHub Enterprise Cloud or Server.

Sign in to Microsoft Learn with a personal Microsoft account, then schedule through Pearson VUE. Exams booked with a work or school account are lost if you leave that organization.

Make a study plan

Take the free practice assessment to find your gaps, then study each domain while changing the same settings in a GitHub Enterprise trial.

Most candidates spend 25–50 hours. Plan for the low end if you already administer a GitHub organization or enterprise; add time if you have never had admin access or have not used SSO, audit logs and enterprise policies.

  • You see a pass or fail result at the end of the exam.
  • If you fail, you can retake after 24 hours, then after 14 days, up to 5 attempts in 12 months.
