IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) Practice Tests

Validates advanced knowledge of the DMAIC method, including regression, designed experiments and statistical tools for Lean Six Sigma.

The IASSC Black Belt is a closed-book exam of 150 multiple-choice and true/false questions in four hours on hypothesis tests, regression, designed experiments and SPC, with a formula reference on screen. We compared the main options on exam-interface realism, question volume and price.

Start with IASSC's own Evaluation Exam to find weak phases, add a larger bank for repetition, and finish with PeopleCert's mock in the real exam interface.

Free Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Practice Test

A 100-question multiple-choice test aimed at the IASSC Black Belt exam, covering DMAIC, Lean and statistical tools. You can pause it and retake it later, but you enter your contact details before you start.

Great fit if you want a free first look at Black Belt-level questions before paying for anything.

Poor fit if you want questions written by IASSC itself; use the Evaluation Exam.

Official readiness check

IASSC Black Belt Evaluation Exam

IASSC's own 150-question practice exam, written by IASSC Technical Committee members and taken unproctored on your own computer. Results are emailed straight away with your score and performance by Body of Knowledge area.

Great fit if you want questions from the exam's own authors and a quick read on which phase to study next.

Poor fit if you want to rehearse the proctored exam screen (see PeopleCert's mock) or need worked explanations for every answer (see Pass Your Six Sigma Black Belt).

Exam interface rehearsal

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) Mock Exam

A full, timed and marked mock with the same number of questions as the real exam, taken in PeopleCert's official exam interface. A test report shows your results and the areas to improve.

Great fit if you want one full-length rehearsal in the real exam interface, with its on-screen reference document, before test day.

Poor fit if you want repeat attempts to learn from; use the Evaluation Exam for retakes.

Large question bank

Pass Your Six Sigma Black Belt

A course with 2,000+ questions, 53 topic quizzes, 8 cumulative tests and 8 full-length mock exams, with explanations for right and wrong answers and a support forum. It lists IASSC among the outlines it covers.

Great fit if you want volume and structure in one place: topic quizzes, cumulative tests and full mocks.

Poor fit if you only need a short, cheap review; it is a monthly subscription (see the Evaluation Exam).

Low-cost extra exams

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Practice Exams - IASSC & CSCC

Four full-length 150-question exams with a rationale for every answer, plus cheat sheets for choosing the right statistical test. The instructor writes for IASSC and CSCC candidates and updated it in May 2026.

Great fit if you want cheap extra full-length practice on test selection and hypothesis testing after the official exams.

Poor fit if you need questions written by IASSC itself; use the Evaluation Exam as your yardstick.

What to look for in a ICBB practice test

  • Questions written to IASSC's outline. IASSC's Black Belt outline has five sections: Define (with Lean), Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Banks built for ASQ's CSSBB also test team management and design for Six Sigma, which IASSC does not list, so compare a bank's topic list with the outline.
  • Statistics you must apply, not define. Normal and non-normal hypothesis tests, ANOVA, regression, designed experiments and control charts carry the exam, and no notes are allowed. Look for questions that make you pick a test or read an output.
  • The real exam screen and reference document. IASSC's exam gives you a reference document of formulas and tables inside the interface and allows no outside copy. PeopleCert's official mock runs in that interface, so use it to practise with the same reference.
  • Full-length runs of 150 questions. The exam is 150 questions in 240 minutes, about 1.6 minutes each. The Evaluation Exam and PeopleCert mock both run 150, and the larger banks add 600 to 2,000+ questions for review.
  • IASSC's exams as the yardstick. Candidates rarely post public reviews of IASSC practice banks, so judge third-party banks by how their scores compare with the Evaluation Exam, not by their own pass claims.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual IASSC Black Belt questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items, not practice. Use products that write their own questions and explain every answer, so you learn the reasoning the exam tests.

How to use ICBB practice tests

  • Take the Evaluation Exam first to find weak phases. Its results show performance by Body of Knowledge area, so you know whether to spend your first weeks on Measure statistics, Analyze tests or Improve designs.
  • Learn test selection, not just formulas. For each hypothesis-test question, write down why the other tests do not fit: data type, number of samples, normality. One candidate who planned a retake said their form leaned heavily on non-parametric tests and z-scores.
  • Explain every miss, and every lucky guess. A July 2026 passer credited a Black Belt prep book for explaining concepts logically, with questions close in difficulty to the real exam. Review the reasoning behind each answer, not only the key.
  • Retake with a gap, and track by section. The Evaluation Exam allows unlimited attempts for 20 days. Retake it after studying your weak areas, and treat a rising score on repeated questions as recall, not skill.
  • Finish with one timed 240-minute run. Do it closed book with only the formulas the exam screen would show, ideally in PeopleCert's interface, and note where you lose time.

ICBB practice test FAQ

Are there free IASSC Black Belt practice questions?

IASSC sells its own practice exam rather than publishing free questions. Simplilearn's free 100-question test is a third-party option.

Are IASSC Black Belt practice exams harder than the real exam?

Candidates rarely compare them in public. One July 2026 passer said the questions in a Black Belt exam-prep book were close in difficulty to the real exam. Use your Evaluation Exam score by section as the guide.

How many Black Belt practice exams should I take?

Two or three full 150-question runs is a sensible target, each followed by a review by Body of Knowledge area: the Evaluation Exam first, a larger bank in the middle, and the PeopleCert mock last.

What is the difference between the IASSC Evaluation Exam and the PeopleCert mock exam?

Both cost $88 and have 150 questions. The Evaluation Exam is IASSC's own, unproctored, with unlimited attempts for 20 days. PeopleCert's mock runs in the official exam interface, stays valid for 12 months, and a retake means buying it again.
