What to look for in a Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate practice test

  • Written for 1Z0-1072-26, not the retired 25 exam. The current exam is 1Z0-1072-26, which replaced 1Z0-1072-25 in June 2026. Check the exam code on the product page, because some free banks online are still written for the old exam.
  • Scenario questions, not definitions. Passers describe long, wordy scenarios on VCN design, route tables and gateways, VPN and FastConnect, and IAM policies with dynamic groups and tags. A good set makes you choose a design, not recall a service name.
  • Explanations that cover the wrong options. In IAM and networking questions, two answers usually look workable. Prefer a set that says why each alternative fails, and sample a few questions before buying any paid bank.
  • Enough questions for more than one pass. Oracle's practice exam is one set, so add a second source written for 1Z0-1072-26 before your final runs.
  • A timed mode for the final runs. The certification exam is 90 minutes. Run at least one practice set against a 90-minute timer to practise reading long scenarios at speed.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual OCI Architect Associate questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Oracle's fraud policy counts using brain dumps as a violation and allows decertification and exam bans. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate practice tests

  • Take Oracle's practice exam first. Finish the course modules and skill checks, then take the official practice exam to see whether IAM, networking, compute or storage is your weakest area before you spend on anything.
  • Turn each miss into a small lab. Passers credit hands-on networking labs. In a free Oracle Cloud account, change a route table or security rule in your own VCN and work out why traffic stops, then delete anything that costs money.
  • Read IAM questions slowly. A passer warns that dynamic groups and tag-based access questions trick people who rush. Write out who the policy applies to and what it allows before looking at the options.
  • Check disputed answers in the OCI documentation. The independent banks are new and have little candidate feedback. If an explanation seems wrong, confirm it in Oracle's documentation or your course notes.
  • Do a timed run near your exam date, and avoid memorising repeats. Sit one full 90-minute session on questions you have not seen. Once you remember a set's answers it stops measuring skill, so move to a fresh bank.

There is no set number. Take Oracle's practice exam first, then one or two full runs on a bank you have not seen, reviewing every miss, rather than repeating sets you remember.

Do I have to pay for the course or the exam?

Not under Oracle's 2026 release: the Architect Associate course and the certification exam are free on Oracle MyLearn. Third-party practice banks are the only optional cost.
