Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) Practice Tests

Validates foundational knowledge of Scrum, Product Owner accountabilities, and managing product value and the Product Backlog.

PSPO I is 80 questions in 60 minutes on the Product Owner accountabilities and the 2020 Scrum Guide. We compared the main options on question volume, difficulty and price.

Most people should start with Scrum.org's free Product Owner Open and Scrum Open, the official starting point, then add a free timed mock and one paid bank. Scrum.org says the Opens are easier than the real test, so finish with a tougher set.

Official Product Owner check

Product Owner Open

Scrum.org's free test on Product Backlog management and maximizing value: 15 questions drawn at random from a larger pool, no certification attached. Candidates say the real PSPO I questions are a little harder.

Great fit if you want Scrum.org's own Product Owner wording and a quick read on your baseline.

Poor fit if you want a longer or timed run; add Scrum Open and TheScrumMaster.co.uk's free 60-question test.

Official Scrum basics

Scrum Open

Scrum.org's free test of the Scrum framework, listed next to Product Owner Open on the PSPO I page. Thirty random questions on the rules every PSPO I question builds on.

Great fit if you want to check the Scrum Guide basics that sit under the Product Owner questions.

Poor fit if you want Product Owner scenarios; use Product Owner Open or a paid bank.

Free timed mock

Free Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) Practice Assessment

Sixty questions in 45 minutes on Product Owner topics, written by the company's principal trainer Simon Kneafsey, with feedback on every answer. It uses multiple choice, multiple answer and true/false items.

Great fit if you want a free, timed run longer than the Open assessments, with explanations.

Poor fit if you want the full 80-question, 60-minute format; the paid TheScrumMaster.co.uk bank has it as a practice mode.

Big low-cost bank

Ultimate Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) Practice Assessment

A pool of 500+ questions with feedback on every answer, covering Scrum, product ownership, value and backlog management. It offers an untimed learning mode and a timed practice mode.

Great fit if you want the most questions for the money before you buy the PSPO I password.

Poor fit if you want a tougher rehearsal than the real test; add the Udemy mock exams (see below).

Timed exam simulator

PSPO I Exam Simulator

Timed PSPO I-style exams built from 345 base questions that change slightly on every attempt, with an explanation for every question. The maker's FAQ calls the real exam well formed but not easy.

Great fit if you want many timed full-length attempts that vary between sittings and explain every answer.

Poor fit if you only need a final check; the Open assessments and TheScrumMaster.co.uk's free test cost nothing.

Harder extra practice

Mock Exams Product Owner Certification 2026 - 800 Questions

Six unofficial tests of 120 or 160 questions with detailed explanations, written to be as hard as or slightly harder than the real test, with trap answers.

Great fit if you already do well on the easier sets and want tougher Product Owner scenarios.

Poor fit if you want 80-question runs in the real format; its tests are 120 to 160 questions.

What to look for in a PSPO I practice test

  • Product Owner scenarios, not only Scrum rules. PSPO I leans on the Product Owner accountabilities: ordering the Product Backlog, product value, forecasting, stakeholders and strategy. A set that only drills events and artifacts will under-test them.
  • Match the 2020 Scrum Guide. Check that a set names the 2020 Guide before trusting its answer key.
  • The real format: 80 questions in 60 minutes. PSPO I mixes multiple choice, multiple answer and true/false. Look for a timed run of that length, which TheScrumMaster.co.uk's practice mode and Management Plaza's simulator provide.
  • Overlap with PSM I is real, so pick for the extra. Choose a bank with Product Owner questions on top of the Scrum core.
  • Explanations and difficulty. Scrum.org gives you a score by focus area, not the questions you missed, and says its Open tests are easier than the real one. Prefer explained answers and add one harder set.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual PSPO I questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Scrum.org's assessment rules require that you have seen none of the answers in advance, and Scrum.org can revoke your certifications and disable your account. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use PSPO I practice tests

  • Read the Guide, then take both Open assessments. Product Owner Open and Scrum Open are the two practice tests Scrum.org lists for PSPO I. Use your misses to decide what to reread.
  • Tie every miss back to the Guide. For each wrong answer, find the Guide text, or the Product Owner idea, that decides it. Passing candidates say the learning happens in the review, not in the score.
  • Repeat the Opens until they are quick and clean. Candidates report questions from the Scrum, Product Owner and Nexus Opens showing up on the real test, so a clean, fast run on each is cheap insurance.
  • Run timed 80-question sets in the last week. Sixty minutes leaves 45 seconds a question. Watch absolutes such as always, never and only, which candidates say catch people out.
  • Mix sources instead of repeating one set. Once you remember a bank's answers it stops measuring understanding. Rotate between TheScrumMaster.co.uk, Management Plaza and a harder set.

PSPO I practice test FAQ

Are there free PSPO I practice tests?

Yes. Scrum.org's Product Owner Open (15 questions) and Scrum Open (30 questions) are the official ones.

Are the Open assessments enough for PSPO I?

Some candidates pass on the Scrum Guide and the Open assessments alone, and report real questions drawn from them. Scrum.org says the Opens are easier than the real test, so add a second question source if you want more volume.

Can I use PSM I practice tests for PSPO I?

Partly. The Scrum core overlaps, but PSPO I adds Product Owner topics such as value, forecasting and stakeholders, so include Product Owner Open and a Product Owner set.

How many PSPO I practice tests should I take?

There is no set number. Take the Open assessments until they feel easy, then two or three timed 80-question runs on questions you have not seen, reviewing each miss against the Guide.
