Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) (EX200) Practice Tests

Validates practical skills in administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux, including software, storage, file systems, networking, users and security.

EX200 is a hands-on, three-hour exam on RHEL 10: you configure live systems, there are no multiple-choice questions, and your work must survive a reboot. We compared the main options on hands-on tasks, worked solutions and price.

Red Hat offers no free practice exam, so most people should build a RHEL 10 lab, then work through timed mock tasks such as Ghada Atef's Udemy exams or the practice exams in Sander van Vugt's cert guide.

Timed mock exams

RHCSA EX200 (RHEL 10) Practice Exams | 6 Hands-on Mock Tests

Six practice exams that simulate the testing environment, each with detailed solutions, written for the RHEL 10 objectives including Flatpak and systemd timers. Two RHEL 10 passers in 2026 credit it for their final preparation.

Great fit if you want RHEL 10 mock exams to run in your own lab in the weeks before your test date.

Poor fit if you want a hosted lab with automatic marking; use KodeKloud.

Book with practice exams

Red Hat RHCSA 10 Cert Guide: EX200

Four practice exams, two printed in the book and two online, plus chapter labs written for RHEL 10. Passers in r/redhat name van Vugt's materials often.

Great fit if you want a structured book with labs and practice exams you can repeat in your own lab.

Poor fit if you want a ready-made lab; you build your own RHEL 10 systems (Red Hat's free Developer Subscription provides RHEL).

Printed practice exams

RHCSA Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10: Training and Exam Preparation Guide (EX200)

A full study book for RHEL 10 whose appendices hold four full-length practice exams, with end-of-chapter labs. One 2026 passer bought it mainly for the practice exams at the back and called it worth it.

Great fit if you want extra full-length exams to time yourself on after a course or van Vugt's guide.

Poor fit if you want digital, auto-marked practice; Udemy's mock sets are cheaper.

Mocks plus MCQs

RHCSA 9 & 10 Full Practice Exams by a Perfect Scorer

Five full mock exams and 200 bonus multiple-choice questions, with RHEL 9 and RHEL 10 sections kept separate. The author says he scored 300/300 on the real exam.

Great fit if you want a second set of mock exams on a budget, with bonus concept questions.

Poor fit if you want a set written only for RHEL 10; Ghada Atef's is.

Browser-based labs

Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) Course

Four mock exams and guided labs inside KodeKloud's RHCSA course, which runs on cloud lab machines so you need no system of your own.

Great fit if you cannot or do not want to build your own lab and want mock exams in a hosted one.

Poor fit if you only want mock exams; the subscription pays for a whole course, and Udemy's sets cost far less.

What to look for in a RHCSA practice test

  • Match EX200 on RHEL 10. The current exam is based on RHEL 10, which adds Flatpak management and systemd timers. Container tasks appear only in RHEL 9 sets, so use sections or products labelled RHEL 10.
  • Look for tasks you perform, not questions you answer. EX200 is performance-based, so a good set gives you tasks to complete on your own systems and a worked solution to compare. Multiple-choice banks only test recall.
  • Choose solutions you can follow. Step-by-step solutions or video walkthroughs show how an expert gets to the end state, which matters more than the final answer.
  • Make sure the set tests persistence. The exam is marked on the final state of the machines, so a set should push you to reboot and re-check mounts, services, SELinux and firewall settings.
  • Plan for more than one set. Most products hold only a handful of exams, so one book and one Udemy set gives you enough fresh full runs before you repeat any.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual RHCSA questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Red Hat's code of conduct bans brain dump sites and allows revoking all your Red Hat certifications and a permanent program ban. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use RHCSA practice tests

  • Build a RHEL 10 lab first. Set up two RHEL 10 virtual machines before any mock. Red Hat's free Developer Subscription provides RHEL at no cost.
  • Do a mock cold, then redo it from scratch. Passers describe repeating a sample exam until the steps are muscle memory. Read the solution for every task you missed or took too long on.
  • Time the full three hours. Finish with spare time to review. Several 2026 passers report finishing in about two hours.
  • Reboot and re-check after every mock. Restart both systems and confirm your changes persisted. A candidate who rebooted caught mistakes this way.
  • Drill the new RHEL 10 objectives. Flatpak repositories and packages, and systemd timers, are new. A candidate who switched from RHEL 9 prep called Flatpak tricky.

RHCSA practice test FAQ

Are there free RHCSA practice exams?

Red Hat publishes no practice exam. Its free skills assessment only recommends where to start training. Free practice means your own RHEL 10 systems, built with Red Hat's no-cost Developer Subscription, and the official exam objectives.

Are RHCSA practice exams harder than the real exam?

Reports do not rank the products by difficulty. Two 2026 RHEL 10 passers said Ghada Atef's exams were close to the real thing, and several passers finished the three-hour exam in about two hours.

How many RHCSA practice exams should I take?

There is no official number. Do full timed exams from at least two sources, redo any that go badly from scratch, and stop when you finish with time to spare and everything survives a reboot.

Do RHCSA practice exams include multiple-choice questions?

The real exam does not; every task is performed on a live system. Some sets add multiple-choice questions for concept review, such as the 200 bonus questions in Pateson Vades's course.
