What to look for in a SC-900 practice test

Cover all four skill areas. The weights are 10-15% security concepts, 25-30% Entra, 35-40% Microsoft security solutions and 20-25% compliance. Security solutions carry the most marks, and one passer scored lowest on the Purview and compliance area, so pick a bank that reports scores by domain.
Look for product-to-need questions. A candidate who scored 80-88% on Microsoft's free assessment and then failed with 653 said the real exam asked far more about which Entra, Defender, Sentinel or Purview feature fits a scenario. Pick a bank with scenario wording, not just definitions.
Plan for no Learn access. Microsoft lets you open Learn on associate exams but not on fundamentals exams, so SC-900 is a recall exam. Practise product names and what each does without looking them up.
Match price to the exam. The exam costs $99. Tutorials Dojo's bank costs $13, while MeasureUp costs the same as the exam. For a fundamentals exam, one free set plus one cheap bank is enough for most candidates.
Expect little change in the current outline. The English skills list changed on October 21, 2026, but only in minor wording in two sections, so a bank written to the earlier list still applies.
Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual SC-900 questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Microsoft's exam policies count brain dumps as cheating and let Microsoft revoke your certifications and bar you from future exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use SC-900 practice tests

Take the free assessment after your first pass of Learn. Read every rationale, note which of the four areas you missed, then study those before retaking. Do not rely on its score alone.
Keep a product cheat sheet. For every miss, add one line saying what the product or feature does and what it is not. The Entra, Defender, Purview and Sentinel names blur together under time pressure.
Add one harder or larger set. Use Tutorials Dojo for volume or MeasureUp for difficulty, and read why each wrong option is wrong, not only the right one.
Time one full run. The exam is 45 minutes with typically 40-60 questions, and candidates describe finishing early. A timed pass shows whether you read carefully or rush.
Avoid memorising repeats. Retaking the same sets until you know every answer tests memory, not the product choices the exam asks for.
