Google Analytics Certification Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of Google Analytics 4 setup, data collection, reports, explorations and connected tools for measuring website performance.

The Google Analytics Certification is a free Skillshop assessment of 50 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes. We compared the main options on official coverage, hands-on practice and price.

Google publishes no separate practice test, so work through Skillshop's four lessons and their knowledge checks first, then add a free question bank and some time in Google's demo account. Paid practice sets are thin, so one cheap option is enough.

Official free path

Google Analytics Certification (2026) learning path

Google's four GA4 lessons (101, 102, 201, 301) with knowledge checks, then the free assessment. These checks are the only official practice questions Google provides.

Great fit if you want the official material the assessment is written from, at no cost.

Poor fit if you want timed practice questions in assessment style; add a free bank such as Open Exam Prep.

Free extra questions

Google Analytics (GA4) practice questions

A free bank of 100 exam-style questions with an explanation for each answer, covering events, key events, explorations, audiences and BigQuery export. Independent and not endorsed by Google.

Great fit if you want free extra questions with explanations once you have finished the Skillshop lessons.

Poor fit if you want a final check in Skillshop's own wording; use these to find topic gaps, not to predict your score.

Quick paid refresher

Google Analytics Certification Success

A short study guide with practice questions and answers, written for the 2026 assessment by a GA trainer working with Google Analytics since 2005. About two hours in total.

Great fit if you want a quick, cheap refresher and a list of the topics to cover before you sit the assessment.

Poor fit if you want many full-length timed sets; it is a short guide, not a large question bank.

Full-length sets

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Certification: Practice Exams

Four 50-question practice exams, the same length as the assessment, each question with an explanation. It was published in June 2026 and has one rating so far.

Great fit if you want several full-length, scenario-style sets to run under time pressure after the free material.

Poor fit if you want proof from many reviews first; the free question bank and the Skillshop lessons cover the same topics.

What to look for in a Google Analytics Certification practice test

  • GA4 names and features, not Universal Analytics. Google renamed conversions to key events in 2024, and the assessment is built on GA4's event-based model. A set that still talks about goals, views or session-first reports teaches the wrong vocabulary.
  • Scenario questions, not definitions. Candidates say most of the assessment time goes on scenario questions where you choose the right report, setting or next step. Prefer sets that describe a business situation and ask what to do.
  • Explanations that name the report or setting. A good explanation says where in GA4 the answer lives, such as which exploration or admin setting, so you can open it and check. Answers without a reason teach you nothing for the next question.
  • Sets sized like the assessment. The assessment is 50 questions in 75 minutes, so a bank with 50-question sets lets you rehearse the pace. Independent banks use their own wording, so they show your gaps rather than the real questions.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual Google Analytics questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items, not practice. Use products that write their own questions and explain every answer, so you learn the reasoning the exam tests.

How to use Google Analytics Certification practice tests

  • Do the Skillshop knowledge checks as you go. They are Google's own questions on exactly the lesson content. Note every one you miss and return to it after the fourth lesson.
  • Open the demo account for what the questions describe. Google's demo account has the Merchandise Store property, so you can find the exploration, audience or key event setting a question mentions. Seeing it once makes scenario questions much easier.
  • Review every miss against the report or setting. For each wrong answer, work out why the option you chose fails in that scenario, not only which letter is correct.
  • Run one timed 50-question set before the assessment. The 75-minute timer cannot be paused and you cannot flag questions to come back to, so practise answering in order at about a minute and a half each.
  • Treat a fail as a topic list. You can retake after one day, so use the gap to rework the topics you missed instead of memorising the questions you remember.

Google Analytics Certification practice test FAQ

Are there free Google Analytics certification practice tests?

Yes. Skillshop's lessons include free knowledge checks, and Open Exam Prep offers 100 free GA4 questions with explanations and no sign-up. Google does not publish a separate full practice test.

Where can I find the Google Analytics certification answers?

Google does not publish them, and answer lists sold or posted online often do not match the current assessment or explain the reasoning. Explained practice questions and the demo account prepare you better.

How many practice tests should I take?

One timed 50-question run after the lessons is enough for most people. Spend the rest of your time on the topics you miss rather than repeating sets you remember.

Can I retake the assessment if I fail?

Yes. The assessment and retakes are free, and you can try again after one day. The certification is valid for 12 months.
