IASSC Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of Lean Six Sigma problem solving, covering DMAIC phases, lean tools and statistical analysis.

The IASSC Green Belt exam is 100 closed-book multiple-choice and true/false questions in 3 hours. Most are single-answer concept items on DMAIC, lean and statistics, including non-parametric tests, and ask which tool fits and why. We compared the main options on official coverage, explanations and price.

IASSC sells the only official practice exam, so use a free timed run as a diagnostic, make the Evaluation Exam your main gauge, and add a cheaper bank that explains each answer.

Free Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Practice Test

A free 100-question, 180-minute test that matches the real exam's length. You can pause it and retake it later, but you must enter your contact details before you start.

Great fit if you want a no-cost, full-length run to see where you stand before buying anything.

Poor fit if you want IASSC-written questions; the Evaluation Exam is the official practice.

Official practice exam

IASSC Green Belt Evaluation Exam

IASSC's own 100-question practice exam, written by its Technical Committee with the same methods as the real one. You take it at home with the IASSC Reference Document, and results show your score and performance by Body of Knowledge area.

Great fit if you want the closest match to the real questions and a read on your weakest Body of Knowledge area.

Poor fit if you want an explanation for every answer; candidates say it does not show which questions you missed, so pair it with an explained bank (see A Guide to Cloud).

Short IASSC tests

IASSC ICGB Lean Six Sigma Green Belt exam prep 2026

Six short practice tests of 20 to 25 questions, written for the IASSC Green Belt, with explanations. Updated April 2026 and rated 4.5 from 33 ratings.

Great fit if you want extra IASSC-specific questions in short sessions.

Poor fit if you want full-length 100-question runs; each test here has only 20 to 25 questions (see Simplilearn).

Extra full-length mocks

Practice Tests - Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Two original 100-question mocks and a 10-question warm-up, with explanations. Written for ASQ CSSGB and LSSGB candidates, so its sections follow ASQ's structure rather than IASSC's.

Great fit if you want two more full-length 100-question runs after using IASSC-specific material.

Poor fit if you need the IASSC outline matched one to one; this follows ASQ's structure.

What to look for in a ICGB practice test

  • IASSC-specific, not ASQ-style. Most Green Belt banks follow ASQ's CSSGB outline. A passer who studied from ASQ's handbook says it barely covers the non-parametric tests that were a large part of the IASSC exam, so favour banks written for IASSC's five sections.
  • Concept questions with one correct answer. The exam is 100 closed-book questions in 3 hours, about 20 from each of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. Passers say it asks which tool to use and why, with little calculation beyond Z values and the regression coefficient, and a couple of questions on the history of Six Sigma.
  • An official benchmark. IASSC calls its Evaluation Exam the IASSC Sample Exam, and it is paid. It is the only practice written by the exam's own committee, and its results break down your score by Body of Knowledge area.
  • Explanations for every answer. The Evaluation Exam reports scores, not reasons, so you need a second bank that explains why each option is right or wrong, particularly for hypothesis tests.
  • Honest volume. Third-party banks run from 125 to 250 questions plus two 100-question mocks. That is enough for a diagnostic and a few drills, but retaking the same mock measures memory.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual IASSC Green Belt questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items, not practice. Use products that write their own questions and explain every answer, so you learn the reasoning the exam tests.

How to use ICGB practice tests

  • Take a free timed run first. A full 100-question run shows which of the five sections to study before you spend money.
  • Learn the gaps your course misses. Passers report that no single course covered the whole IASSC outline. Use the Body of Knowledge as a checklist and add non-parametric tests and the history of Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Buy the Evaluation Exam late. Access lasts 20 days from purchase with unlimited attempts. One passer retook it five times, noting why every miss was wrong, and says each retake included some different questions.
  • Expect the real exam to feel harder. The same passer found the official exam harder than the Evaluation Exam, with tricky wording and few calculations. Aim for solid concepts, not just recognising answers.
  • Use an explained bank between attempts. Work a bank with explanations by section and finish with one timed 180-minute run.

ICGB practice test FAQ

Is there a free IASSC Green Belt practice test?

IASSC does not give one away; its official Evaluation Exam costs $78.

Is the IASSC Evaluation Exam like the real exam?

It is written by IASSC's Technical Committee with the same methods, and IASSC says performance on it may not translate to the proctored exam. One passer found the real exam harder, so treat a good score as a minimum.

Can I use ASQ practice questions for the IASSC exam?

The concepts transfer, and one passer used ASQ's handbook and problem set. ASQ material gives little space to non-parametric tests, and IASSC questions have only one correct answer, so add IASSC-specific practice.

How many practice exams should I take?

One free diagnostic, then the Evaluation Exam once you are ready and one or two more timed 100-question runs on questions you have not seen. Review every miss by Body of Knowledge section.
