Program Management Professional (PgMP) Practice Tests

Validates knowledge of program management, including strategic alignment, life cycle management, benefits delivery, stakeholder engagement and governance.

PgMP questions are short program-level scenarios where several answers are partly right, and the exam runs 170 questions in four hours. We compared the main options on question style, full-length mocks and price.

PMI sells no practice exam and the market is small. Try iZenBridge's free 170-question test for the style, then use one full-length bank for timed runs: iZenBridge's mocks or Mohammad Farhat's Udemy exams.

Free PgMP Mock Test

A free 170-question test built to the exam's length, with a video explaining each question. Candidates use the videos to see how PgMP questions are reasoned.

Great fit if you want a free look at PgMP question style before paying for any bank.

Poor fit if you want fresh questions and domain results after one pass; see the iZenBridge PgMP program.

Realistic full mocks

PgMP Self-Paced Program (with mock exams)

A video program with 1,200+ practice questions: five full-length mocks, five domain tests and extra sets on program activities and artifacts. Passing candidates name its mocks more than any other PgMP bank.

Great fit if you want realistic full-length mocks plus videos and will pay for the most recommended PgMP prep.

Poor fit if you only want questions; the price includes 60+ hours of video, and a cheaper bank such as Farhat's may be enough.

Low-cost full exams

PgMP Exam Prep 5th Edition Mock Tests

Two full 170-question exams and a short bonus set, each question with a detailed explanation, built for the Standard's 5th edition and the March 2024 outline.

Great fit if you want two timed full-length PgMP exams at a low price.

Poor fit if you want video teaching or a larger bank; see the iZenBridge program.

Second question set

PgMP Program Management Real Practice Exams 5th Edition

Shorter practice exams with a justification for every answer, updated October 2026 for the Standard's 5th edition. Passing candidates call them close to the real exam.

Great fit if you want a second set of PgMP-style questions after your main bank.

Poor fit if you need a full 170-question run; the exams are 100 and 60 questions, so use Farhat's or iZenBridge's.

What to look for in a PgMP practice test

  • Built for the March 2024 outline and the Standard, 5th edition. The exam is 170 questions in four hours, weighted Strategic Program Alignment 15%, Program Life Cycle Management 44%, Benefits 11%, Stakeholder Engagement 16% and Governance 14%. Several Udemy sets still follow the 4th edition, so check the title and update date.
  • At least two full 170-question exams. Candidates report no scheduled breaks, so short quizzes do not train stamina. Look for full-length exams, such as iZenBridge's five mocks or Farhat's two.
  • Explanations that name the most correct answer. Several options are often partly right, and the exam wants the most correct one from the Standard's point of view. Prefer a bank that justifies every option and cites the Standard.
  • Program-level questions, not project drills. Candidates say the exam centres on benefits, governance, artifacts and who owns what, with little or no calculation. A bank heavy on schedule and cost math is aimed at the PMP, not this exam.
  • A proven product, because the market is small. PMI sells no PgMP practice exam, and passing candidates call most Udemy PgMP sets weak. iZenBridge, Farhat's and Alaa Sultan's sets are the ones they name most.
  • Skip sites selling "real exam questions." Sites promising actual PgMP questions or a guaranteed pass are selling leaked or copied items. Before the exam you confirm to PMI that you have seen none of its questions, and PMI can cancel your score, revoke your certifications and ban you from its exams. A real practice test explains why each answer is right; a dump only lists answers.

How to use PgMP practice tests

  • Start with the free test, then read the Standard. Take the free 170-question test to see the style, then work through the Standard and the outline. Candidates who passed call these two documents the source of truth and use mocks to find gaps.
  • Review every explanation, including correct answers. Because several options look right, write down why the most correct answer beats the next best one rather than memorising the key.
  • Track the five domains. Program Life Cycle Management is 44% of the exam, so a weak spot there costs the most. Keep a tally by domain instead of one overall score.
  • Do a full run late, in one sitting. Practise at least one 170-question exam in four hours, and decide beforehand when you will take an unscheduled break, since the clock keeps running.
  • Learn concepts, not questions, and expect odd wording. With few banks, scores rise through memory. Some candidates report 10 to 15 real questions with grammar errors; flag them, move on and return.

PgMP practice test FAQ

Are there free PgMP practice tests?

iZenBridge offers a free 170-question test with a video explaining each question. PMI publishes no free PgMP questions and does not sell a PgMP practice exam.

Are PgMP practice exams harder than the real exam?

Candidates who passed mostly call iZenBridge, Farhat and Alaa Sultan's exams close to the real exam. Several add that the real exam used trickier answer choices and different wording than any mock.

How many PgMP practice exams should I take?

Two or three full-length 170-question exams on questions you have not seen, each followed by a full review. Repeating one you remember measures memory, not skill.

What are PgMP exam questions like?

PMI describes a 170-question multiple-choice exam with 240 minutes. Candidates describe short scenarios, often two or three sentences, where several options are correct and you pick the most correct.
